Smash-n-Grab in Clarkstown

In recent days, a rash of car thefts have plagued Rockland County. The Clarkstown Police Department is investigating a series of smash-n-grab car thefts in the parking lot of the Nanuet Little League that occurred on April 24th around 3 to 5:30 p.m. where approximately five cars had their windows smashed – and at least four had possessions taken. Police said that in each case the victim had left a purse in the car. Police are urging residents to “make sure they lock their vehicles, and secure any personal items well out of sight if they must be left inside the vehicle. Items such as purses or computers that will enable thieves to gain access to personal information is a particularly troublesome problem” they added, “you should immediately report this to your local police department, and then change any passwords on accounts that have to do with financial assets, as well as notifying those institutions of the theft, so they can assist you in protecting your assets.” Clarkstown Police Detective Bureau is looking for your help in solving these thefts. If you have any information you can call: 845-639-5840 or the main police number: 845-639-5800.
