Streit’s Matzo Opens in Orangetown

In Orangetown, a welcome business addition to route 303 is the building of the new Streit’s matzo factory. Matzo is a thin, crisp unleavened bread, traditionally part of the Jewish cuisine at Passover and Streit’s, the only family owned matzo business in the nation, is well known and respected for baking the bread in their Manhattan factory since 1925. Last summer the company closed their NYC doors and this past fall they purchased a 100,000-square-foot building in Orangeburg. The factory is located at 171 Route 303 across the street from Stop & Shop and the Lowe’s home improvement store. The factory will open in the summer 2017.
