Metro-North “Quiet Cars” Expanded

WESTCHESTER – Metro-North has announced an expansion of the designated “quiet cars” program allowing passengers a quieter train ride. Originally, designed within one car at rush hour, the expansion will now include two cars during both peak and off peak hours. Quiet cars will be located in the last two cars on trains to New York City, and the first two cars traveling out of the city. Rules include, no talking on cell phones, disabled sound on computers & devices, quiet talk, and passengers must use headphones at a low volume. According to Metro-North spokesperson Nancy Garmerman, “We’re expanding it because the response has been so positive.”
