Sinatra, Jr. dead at 72

FLORIDA – The son of legendary singer, Frank Sinatra has died. Frank Sinatra, Jr. was in Daytona Beach on his “Sinatra Sings Sinatra” tour when he suffered cardiac arrest. In 1963, at the age of 19, Frank, Jr. was kidnapped and held hostage for three days. Frank Sinatra, Sr. paid a ransom of $240,000. The kidnappers were finally captured and sentenced. Scandal surrounding the kidnapping pursued Frank, Jr. for years, insinuating that the abduction was a publicity stunt to further his career. During the final years of his father’s life, Sinatra, Jr. was his father’s bandleader. Recently, he was quoted in the Dayton Beach News-Journal, “I think in my generation when I came along in the early 60s, the type of music that was in vogue in society in those days had moved on to another kind of music. I was trying to sell antiques in a modern appliance store.” Frank Sinatra, Jr. was 72.
