NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade 11AM-4:30PM

Beginning this morning New York City’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 11 am at 5th Avenue and 44th Street ending at 5th Avenue and 79th Street at 4:30pm . Parade organizers say anyone traveling to the city today should check MTA.info for Train and Bus schedule and everyone should be prepared for street closures. The Grand Marshall of the parade is US Senator George Mitchell, who served as Chairman of the peace negotiations of Northern Ireland. NYC Mayor, Bill de Blasio who declined to attend the parade for the past two years, because LGBT organizations were denied the opportunity to march in the parade, will participate this year as LGBT groups will be marching under their own banner. For those planning to include alcohol in their celebrations, WRCR would like to remind you to select a designated driver.  Drunk driving kills 10,000 people nationwide each year.
