St. Patrick’s – Designate a Driver

Tarrytown – St. Patrick’s day is just around the corner and, Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) remind us on their website, “St. Patrick’s Day celebrations often include various shades of green, shamrocks, and light-hearted festivities. However, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the deadliest days for drunk driving.” They encourage anyone whose celebration includes alcohol to select a designated driver.” And “if you host a party,  you can be held liable and prosecuted if someone you serve ends up in an impaired-driving crash.” Beginning Saturday, there will be a statewide crackdown on DWI’s through March 17th. Motorist should expect to see sobriety checkpoints and additional DWI patrols. State officials reminds us that drunk driving kills 10,000 people nationwide each year, and those deaths are preventable.
