NJ Transit – Prepare for Saturday Night

NEWARK – Talks continued Thursday and begin again this morning between the NJ Transit unions and Gov. Chris Christie over a wage increase and diverting a strike that would begin Sunday, March 13th at 12:01am. While commuters have been gearing up with alternatives for the Monday morning commute, NorthJersey.com is reporting that “leaders of NJ Transit and its rail unions warned anyone planning to ride trains Saturday night to be home by midnight or make alternate plans”. Fans planning to attend the Big East college men’s basketball finals at Madison Square Garden or the Ringling Brothers circus at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn on Saturday night need to plan ahead as the midnight deadline may affect train travel home. NJ Transportation authorities encourage everyone to stay informed on agency websites and at the traffic site 511.org.
