Mercy Open After Bomb Threats

YORKTOWN – Mercy College is open for classes this morning after it evacuated all four of their campuses yesterday due to a bomb threat called in just before 4pm. The college sent out a campus wide alert and posted the evacuation on Facebook and all campus social media, tweeting yesterday at 4:49pm, “All campuses are being evacuated due to a threat. All evening class and activities are canceled today March 8.” According to LoHud, Dobbs Ferry police reported that the college received an “alarming communication through telephone.” By 7pm last night the college sent out a campus wide alert, and informed students through their social media and Facebook pages that the campuses were cleared and the threat was “unsubstantiated”. All campuses are back to normal Wednesday schedule and no suspect is known at this time.
