Power Outage At Grand Central Terminal Caused By Pipe Break

According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority website, the power outage at Grand Central Terminal this morning was caused by a water pipe break. Commuters relayed their shock and frustration about the outage that occurred around 9 a.m. on the lower level of the transportation and retail hub the via social media networks. The partial outage affected ticket machines and all retail stores and forced people out of the Lexington Avenue passage and closed the entrance until further notice. All trains are continuing their President’s Day Saturday scheduled run now limited to the upper level. Customers can purchase train tickets aboard the trains without penalties.
