Allegation Arise Against Bronx Priest

Church officials have suspended Roman Catholic Reverend Richard Gorman, of the Bronx, based on two accusations of sexual abuse with a third complaint pending. The events were said to have taken place 30 years ago in Westchester County. According to the lawyer of one of the alleged victims, the incident of abuse happened only once when his client was 13 years-old, and abused him inside of a church. Gorman serves as the director of prison chaplains for the Archdiocese of New York and has also served as chairman of Community Board 12, concerning zoning matters but stepped down from the position yesterday. A release from the Archdiocese explains that Gorman cannot serve as a priest until the matter is resolved.
