Ramapo Police Investigating Pedestrian/Motor Vehicle Accident

According to police in Rockland County they are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian and vehicle. On Thursday officers responded to Route 59 near Saddle River Road in Ramapo where a 14-year old boy was crossing the street after leaving his school bus around 6:56 in the evening. The car was passing the bus when the driver struck the boy, who was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. According to officials with the Ramapo Police Department they are investigating all leads, including whether or not the stop sign was extended from the bus while the children were exiting, and no summons had been filed against the driver at the scene.
