Lowey Press Release Outlines Key Points In Spending Bill To Benefit Lower Hudson Valley

Congresswoman Nita Lowey of the 17th District, sent out a press release today highlighting how the $1.1 trillion spending bill would impact Rockland, Westchester, and New York State. The bill was passed from House to Senate with notable bipartisan compromises and support with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid saying, “It wasn’t easy though. In fact, coming to an agreement on this package was a painstaking endeavor by Senate and House leaders, and House and Senate members.” Lowey explains in the release the provisions she fought to include for the Lower Hudson Valley such as rail and grade crossing safety, an examination into crude oil volatility, World Trade Center and Compensation funds, child care and education, and Pell grants for higher learning. The bill awaits President Obama’s approval.
