Westchester District Attorney Nominated for Chief Justice of Court of Appeals

On Tuesday New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Westchester County District Attorney as his nomination for Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals. DiFiore released a statement following her nomination, saying “My professional life has been devoted to the fair administration of justice and I would gladly continue my service to the people of New York on our state’s highest court.” Governor Cuomo stated that the DA is highly qualified for the position, and she had previously served as Chairwoman for the Albany Joint commission on Public Ethics. DiFiore’s nomination will need to be confirmed by the Senate and when that happens voters in Westchester will elect a new District Attorney to fill her position.
