Carjacking Ring Shutdown

Arrests were made last week in an alleged carjacking ring that spanned from Northern New Jersey to Rockland County. According to the acting Attorney General’s office a 16-month investigation into the thefts of luxury vehicles resulted in the discovery that twenty-one men were working together to steal the cars and ship them to West Africa to be sold at higher prices. Thirteen of the men were arrested and charged with racketeering, fencing stolen property, and money laundering, and the other men are still being searched for. The cars were stolen from driveways, gold courses, dealership, and rental places, and acting Attorney General John Hoffman stated that the crime ring has now been completely dismantled.
