Hudson Waterfont Communities Could Get Money for Improvement Projects

Communities on the Hudson River may receive money from the New York State Thruway Authority, to improve waterfront areas. Nine towns and villages in Rockland and Westchester Counties will be entitled to apply for up to $300,000 of a $1.5 million settlement with the organization and the groups Scenic Hudson and Riverkeeper, which allowed the Tappan Zee Bridge project to be approved by the Department of Environmental Conservation. The money will allow the communities to improve environmental, economic, recreational, and cultural projects for example new parks or sidewalks. In Rockland Orangetown, Upper Nyack, Nyack, South Nyack, Grandview, and Piedmont can apply, and in Westchester Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepyhollow can apply.
