NY Comptroller Helps Residents Obtain Money Owed by State

According to a report released by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, who spoke with Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins on Tuesday, residents may be owed money from the state. The state released the names of business and residents who could be owed unclaimed cash or checks, totalling more than $100 million all together. On Tuesday at the Yonkers Riverfront Library in Westchester, community members were able to search their names and determine if they are owed lost money, either through uncashed checks or insurance policies, many discovering that they do. Residents can learn more and see if they have money available to them by going to the Comptroller’s website, www.os.state.ny.us.
