Westchester County Executive Donates to Clarkstown Supervisor Candidate

According to a report in the Journal News, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has donated $96,000 to George Hoehmann’s campaign for Clarkstown Supervisor. Hoehmann is running against incumbent Alexander Gromack on the Republican line, and according to state reports reviews by the news paper, accepted donations from Astorino’s Reform Party, through October 12-19. The money apparently came from Municipal Safety Research LLC, a company located in White Plains, which is not registered with the New York Department of State. The money paid for Hoehmann’s advertising on both television and print, and has drawn the attention of the news source because of the legal maximum of $2,700 for a donation made by an individual. The Supervisor race is yet another in the closely watched Rockland County elections, and several reports have been made by residents that campaign is getting aggressive on both sides. No comments have been released from any party involved in the donations as of yet.
