Conybeare Resigning as Special Advisor on Tappan Zee Bridge Project

According to state officials, the Governor’s special advisor for the new Tappan Zee Bridge is resigning from his position. Andrew Cuomo’s office stated Brian Coneybeare notified the governor on Monday that he was grateful for the opportunity provided to him three years ago, but now that construction is at the halfway point on the project, he is ready to “focus on my future both professionally and personally.” Executive Director of the Thruway Authority Robert Megna stated that the organization is grateful to Conybeare for all the work he has done for the public regarding the project and a replacement has not been yet. The bridge is expected to be finished in 2018. Conybeare’s final day on the job will be November 6.
