Community Reacts to Health Update on Yonkers Pro-Baseball Player

According to family of a 23-year old man who was injured in a shooting in Yonkers last month, he was declared brain dead by doctors. Mike Nolan, a Yonkers resident, was shot in a drive-by shooting September 18 at a Burger King and police continue to investigate the incident that they believe was motivated by a dispute over drag racing. Nolan’s parents stated to both News 12 and the Journal News that the support the family has received from the community and local officials has been comforting, but the young man was officially declared brain dead and they plan to donate his organs to help others. Nolan was a baseball star and recently drafted by the Oakland Athletics.
