Two Men Arrested for Writing Illegal Prescriptions

According to police they arrested two Orange County men in connection to the death of a Yonkers man earlier this year. Police stated that Dr. Alfred Ramirez, a psychiatrist with offices in Orange and Dutchess Counties, and James Cooney, were accused of selling over 10,000 pills by writing prescriptions to those who were willing to pay. In March police discovered the body of 31-year old elementary school teacher Daren Gajdusek in his Yonkers home, along with an empty bottle of oxycodone. Police determined the man died from an overdose of the drug, mixed with xanax, and traced his death back to Ramirez and Cooney. They were arrested and face 20-years in prison.
