Middletown Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Mall Patrons

According to State Police they responded to multiple calls at a mall in Orange County on Sunday. Some time in the afternoon residents from a group home called police from the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown where they reported a man was threatening to shoot them all in the parking lot. Police stated the group locked themselves in their van as 21-year old Jeffrey Baker of Middletown continued to threaten them from outside the vehicle while holding his hand at his waistband and claiming he had a pistol. Soon after police found Baker in Sears where he was threatening to shoot two women. State Police arrested the man on charges of third-degree menacing and disorderly conduct, but found no weapons on his person. He is being held in Orange County Jail on $2,500 bail.
