Town of Warwick Police Department Facing Lawsuit

Police in Orange County are facing a lawsuit from a July 2014 incident, involving a man from Pennsylvania who claims he was falsely arrested for forging a prescription. Joseph Quattrochi, of Tamiment Pennsylvania was arrested last year by the Warwick Police Department, when he attempted to fill a prescription for Oxycodone at a pharmacy in the town. The pharmacist called the police and reported that the writing was illegible and three officers arrested Quattrochi soon after, on charges of forgery and possession of a controlled substance, which were later dismissed by the court. According to the lawsuit, Quattrochi was held in jail for six days and was denied bail, and the man also claims that the officers did not complete the necessary steps to prove he did not forge the prescription, for example contacting the doctor that filed it. The suit is against the town of Warwick, the police department, and the three officers individually.
