Westchester Woman Arrested for Stealing from Nursing Home

According to a statement released by the New York State Attorney General’s Office, a woman from Westchester was arrested for allegedly stealing from patients in a nursing home where she worked between April 2013 and February 2014. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman stated that 28-year old Claire Wieland was employed as a receptionist at Livingston Hills Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, which is located in Columbia County, and is accused of cashing at least 24 checks for a total of $6,000 that she had written from an account she was anchorage of that was made up of resident’s personal funds. Weiland was charged with 24 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument as well as charges of Grand Larceny. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and is being held on $15,000 bail.
