Cuomo Announces Approved $15.00/hour Minimum Wage for Fast Food Worker

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his plan to raise the state’s minimum wage at a press conference on Thursday. Speaking with Vice President Joe Biden, Cuomo began by announcing that the New York Labor Department has approved the wage board recommendation for $15.00 an hour for fast food workers. The workers will begin to see an increase over three years in Manhattan and six years statewide. Cuomo will now send to the Legislature, the minimum-wage proposal that would change the New York minimum to $15.00 for any worker not just in the fast food industry, which must be approved by members.
