Officials Identifying Body Found in Hudson River

Rockland County officials are currently working to identify the body of a man found in the Hudson River on Monday. According to police, witnesses had reported seeing a man jump from the Tappan Zee Bridge on Thursday morning, and authorities stated a car was left abandoned on the Rockland side. Rockland Sheriff officials stated that around 8:15 Monday morning the Marine Unit pulled a body from the river, after searching the water since Thursday and the Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the individual in an attempt to confirm whether or not it may be the person who jumped. Sunday also began the start of Suicide Prevention Week. You can visit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at their website asp.org for more information on obtaining help for someone or yourself who may be suffering, or how to help spread the word about suicide prevention.
