Gas Prices In New Jersey Dip

Gas prices in the North New Jersey area saw numbers dip below the $2 mark, a first since the Spring season as the Summer winds down. According to which is an interactive website which allows drivers to update prices as they change, gas stations in north Bergen County range from $1.85-1.89 for regular, with cheaper prices coming from central New Jersey stations near Philadelphia. According to AAA, the declining cost of crude oil is to thank for the lowest price levels since 2004. Patrick Dehaan, senior petroleum analyst at, lists a number of reasons for the decline including the fact that EPA regulations require lower volatility gasoline in the summer costing refiners an average of 25 cents per gallon to produce.
