Garfield Police Officer Charged With DWI

Four-year Garfield Police Veteran, Sebastian Tyburski is being investigated after being charged with DWI Saturday evening. Elmwood Park Police officers responded to calls of a vehicle on the curb with a man sleeping in the drivers seat. Bergen County sheriff spokesman Anthony Cureton stated that Tyburski had struck a pole in the Taco Bell parking lot at the corner of Market Street and South Midland Avenue around 6:30 p.m. that evening when officers found him. Sobriety tests conducted found his blood alcohol content to be 0.16, twice the legal limit in the state of New Jersey. This is the second Garfield officer arrested for DWI in a year with Patrick Sajewicz’s arrest coming last October after he crashed his vehicle into a building which injured his passenger.
