Miners Beat Boulders At Home

The Rockland Boulders hosted the Sussex County Miners at Provident Bank Park, but lost 7-2. The runs came early for the Miners with two solo shots off of starting pitcher Fray Martinez in the 2nd and a fielding error in the third costing another run. Junior Arrojo was able to beat a double play to allow the Giuseppe Papaccio to score from third. Joe Maloney racked up another home run in the bottom of the 6th however was shaken up by a diving play in the 7th costing two men to score, but he stayed in the game. Boulder fans acknowledged Jared McDonald who set a new Can-Am league record for consecutive games reaching base at 51. The team travels to meet Sussex tonight at 7:05 p.m.
