Man Arrested in Connection to New Jersey Home Invasions

Paramus Police have arrested a 47-year old man in connection with several burglaries throughout Northern New Jersey. James Rainsford is accused of committing several burglaries in Passaic and Bergen Counties including one in Allendale where he attempted to open several doors to a home before being scared off by an alarm. In multiple cases Rainsford used his bicycle to get away from the scene quick enough to avoid authorities. When police found him, he was on foot in a wooded area and was in possession of 2 flashlights and a crack pipe. Detectives from multpile agencies are investigating whether or not Rainsford is responsible for other incidents in the area. He is being held at the Bergen County Jail without bail.
