Sprain Ridge Pool Project Gets Funding

Westchester County officials announced Westchester officials announced on Monday that they will be borrowing $8.8 million to reconstruct the Sprain Ridge pool. Vice Chairman of the Legislature, Jim Maisano, stated that the pool would benefit residents and closing it in 2010 was a mistake. The $9.3 million redesign and construction by 2017, and has been a source of debate among county officials for some time. County Executive Rob Astorino postponed the renovation plans in 2010 for financial reasons, and proposed a lesser bond of $5.5 million in 2014, which was shot down by the Legislature.
