Police Arrest Suspect in ATM Money Theft

Mahwah Police have arrested one suspect in connection to a stolen bag containing $141,000 earlier this week. 42-year old Alton Harvey was arrested and police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 35-year old Jamar Bludson who is also suspected in the case and is wanted for a parole violation. The incident occurred on Monday when an employee working for an ATM company accidentally left the bag on the curb at one of the sites they were dropping off to. After searching through databases police were able to narrow down the suspects. Harvey and Bludson were in the area believed to be stealing used tires from auto shops and car dealerships when they pulled up to the scene and stole the bag. The two then went on to buy a customized Chevy Tahoe, which Harvey reportedly admitted was brought with the stolen cash. Harvey has admitted to driving the van and has an extensive criminal record including ten felony offenses for weapons and narcotics as well as resisting arrest and escaping police custody. He is being charged with theft of mislaid property.
