Child Rescued From Hot Car in New Jersey

A mother from Hackensack, New Jersey is being charged with child-endangerment after leaving her daughter locked in a hot car while she went shopping at CostCo. In a cell phone video that has gone viral on FaceBook, concerned shoppers are seen gathering around the mini van and attempting to break the window to get the young girl out. Police then arrived and broke the rear window, freeing the girl who was crying and drenched in sweat. The video then shows the mother back at the van with another child and a full shopping cart. The temperature inside the car was above 80 degrees and it is unclear how long the young child was in there. Officials are reminding residents that temperatures inside cars can go up 10 degrees in less than a half hour. The girl was taken to Hackensack Medical Center to be checked out and was turned over to her father, while the mother was charged and released with a desk ticket.
