Four More Inmates Suffer Overdoses at Westchester County Jail

Valhalla Police stated that four more inmates from the Westchester County Jail were found in medical distress on Monday due to believed overdoses. News 12 reported on Monday night that County Executive Rob Astorino ordered a lockdown of the prison, with Corrections Officers searching each cell for sick inmates or contraband. All ten men were from the same cell block, where officers also discovered a hand-rolled cigarette and a plastic bottle used as a pipe for smoking reportedly leading to charges of promoting prison contraband. The four inmates were taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment, police believe the overdoses were caused by a form of synthetic marijuana known as K2.
