Sexual Abuse Trail Against New Square Rabbi Continues

The trial against a New Square Rabbi accused of molesting a young boy is continuing, with the victim testifying in court on Friday. In 2001 Moshe Taubenfeld, who is now 55-years old began molesting the 8-year-old who often speaks with the media after coming forward identifying himself as Laity Stern. Stern has stated that the molestation began when he sought counseling from Taubenfeld for the September 11th terror attacks, and continued for five years, the older man allegedly giving the boy $20 after each incident at his home. The defense team attempted to prove reasonable doubt during Friday’s hearing by showing inconstancies in Stern’s testimony, such as how the now 22-year old could not say how many windows were in the study the abuse allegedly occurred. Taubenfeld has has denied the second- degree sexual conduct against a child felony charge against him.
