Illegal Walking Path Still Being Used in Ramapo

According to a report in the Journal News, homeowners that built an illegal shortcut on town owned property are still using it, even after being sued to have it removed. In January the town of Ramapo filed a suit against the owners of 1 Neva Court and 9 Quince Lane to restore the property after they removed trees and bushes last summer to pave the ground in the woods between the two homes. According to the news report residents in the area are frustrated and questioning why the case is ongoing and the path is still there. Deputy Town Attorney Michael Specht stated that Ramapo is attempting to expedite the removal but the case isn’t returning to court until September 9 where it will be decided who is responsible for the process, since the homeowners are claiming they did not build the 300-foot walkway.
