Orange County Resident Arrested For DWAI In Orangetown

Orangetown Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Orange County over the weekend and charged him with driving while impaired as well as other drug related charges. Jason Russio was stopped early Sunday morning after police spotted him driving erratically on Townline Road in Pearl River. Police say that Russio is being charged with a felony count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, because he has a prior conviction of the same charge with in the last 10 years. He is also being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having heroin. His passenger, Eric Silverman is also being charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having heroin and cocaine. Both were taken to the Rockland County Jail, where Silverman was released on 500 dollars bail and is due in Orangetown Justice Court on August 11th. Russio is still being held on $10,000 bail.
