Clarkstown Teacher Arrested For Under The Influence, Drug Possession

The Mahwah Police Department released information yesterday regarding a hit and run accident earlier this week on Kingsbridge Way that led to the arrest of 42 year-old Jill Blau, a Felix Festa Middle School special education teacher. Officers received complaints that a car hit a utility pole and left the scene. An officer questioning residents in the area, spotted a vehicle that appeared to have sustained damage similar to the incident described and pulled Blau over. Field sobriety tests conducted by the officers on the scene indicated that she was driving under the influence of heroin and in possession of drug paraphernalia including prescription narcotics. She was charged with multiple offenses, released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Mahwah Municipal Count this evening. In 2013, Blau was arrested for and charged with driving under the influence. She had been employed at Link Elementary School In New City at the time.
