Suffern Resident Arrested, Suspected In Local Burglaries

A 28-year-old Suffern man has been arrested after being suspected of multiple burglaries in the area. Timothy Taylor was arrested at around 2am on Saturday after entering a fenced in property and peering into the windows of a home, before trying to enter through the basement. The resident inside saw Taylor and quickly called 911 as he fled the scene. He was found a short time later at Orange and East Maple Avenues in Suffern. Police also say that on June 17th Taylor entered into the garage of a home on West Maltbie Avenue and stole a bicycle that was inside. Taylor has a long list of prior arrests out of New York City and Albany, both where he has outstanding warrants. According to police Taylor is being charged with felony counts of third-degree burglary and second degree attempted burglary, as well as misdemeanor counts of third-degree criminal trespass, petit larceny, and fifth- degree criminal possession of stolen property. More charges could be added, police say, as they are investigating other incidents that he might be connected to. Taylor is being held at the Rockland County Jail on 20 thousand dollars bail. He is due back in Suffern Village Court later this week.
