Convicted Murderer Arrested for Breaking Parole

Orangetown Police stated on Tuesday that a man was arrested for breaking his parole by choking and threatening a woman. 61-year old Rocco Cuccio was convicted in 2001 for the 2000 murder of his wife at their home in Valley Cottage, when he beat her and strangled her, leaving her body in the woods near Lake DeForest. In November 2014 Cuccio was released on parole until April 2016. Police responded to a call and arrested the Tappan man on Sunday for charges of second-degree menacing and criminal obstruction of breathing, and second-degree harassment. The arrest broke his parole and he will remain in custody despite posting bail.
