Quebec Capitals Best The Boulders

The Rockland Boulders away on a Canadian road trip fell in the series opener against the Quebec Capitals 8-3 with three more games scheduled against the third place team. The Boulders average of 5.14 ERA is the second highest in the league, with Thursday’s matchup showing this week link in their otherwise solid game. The Boulders offense was quieted by Quebec starting pitcher Sheldon McDonald who went seven innings allowing only two runs though the Boulders did strike first. Solid hitting by the Capitals combined with an error by Charlie Law gave away that lead by the bottom of the 4th. It was all Canada after that with Boulders reliever Alex Gouin struggling allowing four runs on four hits in one inning of relief. The Boulders are now only one game ahead of the second place Jackals and will need to regroup before tonight’s game two in Quebec at 7 p.m.
