Army Reserve Center In Orangeburg To Receive Funding

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced last week that $4.2 million in funds have been secured for the construction of the Army Reserve Center in Orangeburg by the Senate Appropriations Committee. A new Organizational Maintenance Shop is being built at the location to meet the training needs of the company. Regarding the decision, Senator Schumer is quoted as saying “I am pleased the House and Senate have included this New York priority in their bills – this is a significant federal investment that will ensure the ARC has the proper resources it needs to train our troops.” Senator Gillibrand, a member of the Armed Services Committee also expressed support of the funding to provide a state-of-the-art facility to train and retain troops. The bill will now move to the Senate for approval.
