Rockland County to Offer Rabies Vaccines for Pets

There will be 2 more opportunities to get your cats, dogs or ferrets their rabies shots before the end of the year. According to a flyer put out by the Rockland County Health Department, they will be holding the sessions on Sunday July 12th and Sunday October 4th at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona. It is important to note that all cats, dogs and ferrets must be vaccinated by law. However in order for them to receive the vaccination the animal must be healthy and older then 3 months. Also note if you bring a dog, they must be on a leash and if you bring a cat or ferret they must be on a leash or in a carrier that can open from the top. Vaccines are free however the flyer states that a suggested donation of 5 dollars will defer any costs. If you have any questions or would like more information you can call the Health Department at 845-364-2656.
