Pfizer Selling Land to California Realty Group

The Journal News is reporting that Pfizer has agreed to sell over 200 acres of the property located in Pearl River, to the California company, Industrial Realty Group for an undisclosed amount which would be used for a variety of businesses including science and technology. Pfizer spokeswoman, Susan Rutledge said the sale could be finalized by the end of this year. The research and development site in Orangetown is scaling down employment to about 600 jobs in 2017, down from the 1,300 currently working there. Al Samuels, President of the Rockland Business Association praised the pending deal which would bring development to the county. Rockland Economic Development Corp. President and CEO Michael DiTullo hoped that working with a major Fortune 500 company would attract diverse science and technology business to the county. County Executive Ed Day also looks favorable on the economic impact this would have for Rockland County.
