Rockland County Sees Population Growth

According to the most recent census numbers Rockland County saw the highest population percentage increase in New York State in 2014. One of the many towns in the county that saw an increase in the number of residents was Ramapo, which grew by just over 1,600 people. This is a significant number as it is the third fastest growing city in the state, trailing behind New York City and Hempstead, Long Island. Overall, the state saw a 2 percent increase in the number of residents from the 2010 census, with Ramapo seeing a 5 percent increase. The numbers also showed that Westchester County saw an increase in population as well, while many upstate areas saw numbers decrease.
