Entergy Announces Hotline For Residents To Report Oil Slicks

Entergy, the owner and operator of the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant released a statement on their website regarding an “oil-spill hotline” so residents can call in and report any oil in the river, resulting from the transformer fire on May 9. The number to call is 800-472-6372. According to the statement, when you call the number you will be asked to provide your name, the date and time, and the area you saw the oil slick. You can also send information via email to environment@safe-secure-vital.com Officials will then look in to the claim, and discuss any findings with environmental response personnel. Officials have observed about 25 different sites on the Hudson and have begun cleaning up a number of them.
