Construction Suspended For Memorial Day Weekend Travelers

New York State has suspended all construction work on roadways starting today until 6am on Tuesday. This is all to ease congestion and allow those who are travelling for the Memorial Day holiday to get around a little bit easier. AAA estimates that 37 million people will be travelling more than 50 miles to reach their destination this weekend, with 33 million travelling by car. Experts say that these are the highest expected numbers in 10 years, mainly due to lower gas prices. For travel conditions on the road or airport information throughout New York, you can call the states traffic line at 511 or log on to 511ny.org.
