Identity of Sloatsburg Crash Victim Released

Police have released the identity of an Orange County man that was killed in an accident between his pickup truck and a garbage truck on Monday morning. According to officials around 2:40 AM 40-year old Stefan Connolly was driving on Sterling Mine Road in Sloatsburg when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line and collided with an Interstate Waste Management truck, destroying the driver’s side of his white pickup truck. Police began investigating at the scene Monday morning, closing the road for several hours in both directions as they reconstructed the accident to determine the cause. Police stated that the driver of the garbage truck was taken for required testing, but there were no signs that drugs or alcohol were involved. Police are still trying to determine what caused Connolly to cross into the opposite lane.
