Women Involved in Nadell Killing Have Sentencing Postponed

Two women arrested in connection to the murder of 80-year old Valley Cottage resident Peggy Nadell, were expected to be seen in court this week, but a judge has rescheduled their sentencing for July 10. Prosecutors in the case stated that the reason for postponing was because they have not completed the presentencing reports necessary to move forward. 25-year old Elita Grant and 26-year old Tanisha Joyner were arrested in early 2014 for their roles in the plot to murder Peggy Nadell, and pleaded guilty to second-degree hindering prosecution after making a deal to testify against Diana Nadell who was sentenced on Tuesday to 23 years to life in prison, for killing her mother-in-law last year. Also sentenced to 20 years to life in prison was Andrea Benson of Washington D.C. for assisting Nadell in the crime. Grant, who is Diana Nadell’s niece, was arrested for setting her aunt up with the other two women involved and Joyner was arrested for using Nadell’s cellphone from Washington D.C. to provide an alibi for the woman.
