Supervisor Finn of Stony Point Not Seeking Reelection

Supervisor Geoffrey Finn announced that he will not be running for a third term in office. Finn stated that his reason for not seeking reelection was to spend more time with his family, including his three sons, and his businesses that include two pizzerias. The Supervisor, now 45, was elected in 2011 and stated that ten years ago he looked at politics differently than he does now, and is tired of what they have turned into. Finn will remain in office until the end of his term on December 31, when a new supervisor will take office and stated that he has not yet endorsed a candidate for the position. According to Finn he will try to see the main projects on his plate to completion; the gasification plant to be built in the town, which is being reviewed by the Department of Environmental Conservation before construction can start, and the marina and waterfront project that will put condos and restaurants on the water.
