Stabbing In Suffern, Felony Charges Filed

Suffern Police responded to a stabbing at 48 Ramapo Avenue at around 11AM Wednesday morning. Officers arrived at the residence to find a 43 year-old man bleeding from his head who stated that he and his 23 year-old son had gotten into an argument which escalated when his son attacked him with a screwdriver. Police dispatched a K-9 unit which tracked the screwdriver believed to be the assault weapon in the rear of the home by the railroad tracks. Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps. transported the victim to Good Samaritan Hospital. His son, later found using the public restroom at the police station, was arrested for assault in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon. He remains at the Rockland County Jail for $250 bail.
